Live demo · nothing to sign into

A week of a business, running.

Two companies, one engine: a six-store restaurant group and a six-market home-services company. Both are invented and every number in them is generated — the analysis underneath is the real thing, doing the same arithmetic it would do on your own exports.

On a phone this is worth opening full screen — open the demo.

Four things worth doing in it

  1. Start where a manager would

The Command Center is the week in nine numbers, each against the same week last period. Underneath it is what moved enough to be worth somebody's morning.

  2. Ask it why

Click anything under “Needs Attention”. It opens the evidence behind the finding, the definition of the metric, and the threshold that made it fire. Nothing says “trust me”.

  3. Break the business

“Break something” in the sidebar plants a real problem — a daypart that stops converting, an ad cost creeping, stock running down — and rebuilds the data. The analysis is not told what you changed.

  4. Change the industry

Switch between the restaurant group and the home-services company. Same baselines, same tests, same rules — only the description of the business changes.

What this is, and what it is not

What is real

The engine. Every figure is computed from the underlying records, compared against days that are genuinely comparable, and tested before anything is called a finding. The writing in each finding explains numbers that were calculated — it never produces one.

What is invented

Both companies, every store, every person and every number. Nothing here belongs to a real operator, and no client’s data has ever been near it.

If you run restaurants, the same thing on your numbers starts with having it built. If you run a service company, this is the version for you. Either way the first step is telling me what gets rebuilt by hand every week.
